Did you know July, August, and September are the most popular months to give birth? Whether you’re a new mom or in your first trimester, staying active and strong is so important for all stages of motherhood. Research has shown that maintaining regular activity levels is beneficial to your body throughout pregnancy, during labour, and after birth.
Pilates is an ideal workout for pre and postnatal women because it helps prepare your body for labor and then eases it into recovery mode. What’s more, Pilates is built on strength, flexibility, and control – all techniques that will be invaluable to you in the delivery room. Strong abdominal muscles and fitness longevity will give you the boost you need to get through it. Plus your post-baby body will thank you for staying fit, as it will be easier to get back into you original shape faster.
Due to popular demand, we’re introducing our second Prenatal and Postnatal Pilates Workshop starting June 17th
! Led by Form Body Lab founder and experienced Pilates Trainer Jessica Slonski, this six-week progressive course on the equipment will focus on Pelvic Floor and Transverse Abdominal (deep core) strength. You’ll learn to control these areas, which are vital to rehab or ‘pre-hab’ your pregnancy. Jessica will also incorporate Pilates, Restorative Pilates, Pfilates (pelvic floor pilates) and stretching, as well as Chair, Reformer, and Mat Work.
Our goal is to give you the tools you need to continue strengthening at home on your own, either to rehabilitate your post-natal body so you can enjoy being a new mom to the fullest, or to prepare your pelvic floor and abdominals for labour. This is also a great way to integrate into group classes and be introduced to the Pilates Method if you are not familiar with it.
This Prenatal Pilates class is limited to 4 people only to maximize individual attention and quality, so sign-up now to secure your spot! Email, call our Vancouver studio at 604.687.6870 or register online.
Note: Classes are $210 plus tax and payment is due upon registration. There are no transfers, refunds, or credits permitted. Please check with your health provider prior to exercising and registration. You will be required to sign a Pregnancy Par Q prior to participating in this course if you are pregnant.
