Melissa’s passion for movement originated on the local hills of North Vancouver where she started skiing as soon as she was able to walk. This same passion for movement and athleticism lead her to a professional ballet career with several dance companies throughout the United States. When her career fell short due to a dance injury, she redirected her passion. Melissa completed her yoga teacher training in 2010, and her passion for movement, special populations and rehabilitation led her into investing her focus to Pilates.
She became certified through Physical Mind Institute of Canada in 2014 as a Pilates Mat, Standing and Pre/Postnatal instructor. She has since completed her full certification for Pilates apparatus through Physical Mind Institute of Canada and additionally completed the basic and intermediate classical Pilates seminar workshop through Whistler Pilates.
In doing this work, she strives to help others prevent injury and set the body up for longevity. Her goal is to educate each client so they can feel stronger and more balanced in and out of the studio.
