FORM Body Lab Pilates Teacher Training Program requires students to complete Observation, Practice Teaching and Self-Practice hours prior to becoming a qualified instructor.

Observation (25 hours)

Observation hours are defined by watching experienced instructors teach group classes or private sessions. Students do not participate in class while observing. Observation is a very helpful way to understand verbal and hands-on cueing, exercise balance, use of voice and how to lead a class. Form Body Lab will allow trainees to observe our mat classes with a maximum of 1 trainee per class.

Practice Teaching (35 hours)

Practice teaching hours include teaching Pilates to friends, family, or fellow trainees.

Self-Practice Sessions (30 hours)

Note: 20 hours prior to course commencement + 10 hours during the course, between the commencement date and the final exam; 30 hours total

Students are required to have a minimum of 20 hours of personal Pilates practice (in a studio or clinic setting) before the training and complete a minimum of 10 classes during the course and before the exam. Classes taken at other studios can count towards these classes. Please contact us at [email protected] for questions or concerns about your self-practice hours. The goal is to apply the detailed technique you are learning to your practice and to participate in class with the viewpoint of a teacher. Maintaining a personal Pilates practice is an essential part of being a strong and effective instructor.
